It’s Half Time!! Game on!!

You know that half time anxiety you get when you’re watching your favorite sports team competing with their ultimate rival?? That’s the feeling I feel right about now. I’ve been eyeing this built in Ikea bookshelf for the last 3 weeks wondering if I’ll ever finally conquer this beast of a DIY project I committed myself to tackling.

I can’t believe how many mistakes I’ve made, the problems I didn’t plan for and the endless trips to Home Depot I keep making, BUT I have learned SO much about DIY by actually taking action and making that decision to ‘stop pinning & start doing’. Also super grateful that the One Room Challenge started when it did, because that was a HUGE motivator.

But I can’t believe it’s already HALF WAY through the challenge! Like what?!?! HOW?! Let’s take a look at what I accomplished during Week 3.

I’m actually WAY impressed with what we accomplished. Even though there were factors outside of my control that didn’t allow me to fully complete everything on my to-do list, I’m SO glad for the steps I’ve made so far.

The biggest celebration was hiring out help to hang this chandelier (that I spray painted black). I’d rather save my first time installing new lights in a ceiling about 9 feet high or less… I decided to leave this higher ceiling for a professional to deal with, and I LOVE IT!! I bought it to match this lamp I bought from Wayfair and I’m obsessed with the bubbled style shades.

I think the biggest motivator for me in week 4 is to officially finish building the bookcase with shiplap so that I can then start decorating and painting my other walls. To be fully vulnerable, this is what my room looks like right now….The ultimate DIY Disaster. (That’s what I really should name this blog pot).

Cheers to Week 4! In hopes that I will officially see my room clean again.
